Imagine being a single mother working two jobs, struggling to manage three defiant children and desperately trying to make things better. Imagine starting over raising a child, guiding your grandchild who needs additional resources and help, and not even knowing where to begin. Imagine having a child who is nonverbal and you learning to re-navigate how to discipline, love and nurture.
These are the faces of the many families served by Boys Town South Florida - families who live and work right here in our community. They are our neighbors, friends and coworkers - the cashier at the grocery store, the banker downtown and the mom at the PTA meeting.
Each year, Boys Town South Florida helps hundreds of at-risk girls, boys and families across Palm Beach and Broward counties. For families in crisis, hope begins with meeting their immediate basic needs before addressing deeper challenges.
That is why Boys Town South Florida is proud to announce the official opening of its first Giving Pantry, created to provide essential items - such as food, clothing, hygiene kits, baby supplies, toys and gift card - to families facing hardship. The goal is simple but powerful: to offer an immediate response to families in need, meeting them where they are and showing compassion in action.
