Donor Communications and Opt-Out Policy
If you are a donor to Boys Town, it is our policy to collect your postal address, email address or phone number and send you periodic communications (offline and online) with information on support opportunities, new products and services, events, and other similar information. If you wish to opt-out from receiving some or all Boys Town donor communications, please contact Donor Relations via one of the methods below.
Boys Town does not distribute information to its donors via postal mail, email, or phone on behalf of other organizations. Boys Town does make available the postal addresses of its donors to other organizations. However, Boys Town does not share or sell donor email addresses or donor phone numbers. If you wish to prevent your postal address from being shared with other organizations, please contact Donor Relations via one of the methods below.

FLORIDA: F.S.A. Section 496.411 shall conspicuously display the following statement on every solicitation, confirmation, receipt, or reminder of a contribution: "A COPY OF THE OFFICIAL REGISTRATION AND FINANCIAL INFORMAITON MAY BE OBTAINED FROM THE DIVISION OF CONSUMER SERVICES BY CALLING TOLL-FREE WITHIN THE STATE. REGISTRATION DOES NOT IMPLY ENDORSEMENT, APPROVAL, OR RECOMMENDATION BY THE STATE." The statement must include a toll-free number and website for the division which can be used to obtain the registration information. If the solicitation consists of more than one piece, the statement must be displayed promintently in the solicitation materials. If the solicitation occurs on a website, the statement must be conspicuously displayed on any web page that identifes a mailing address where contributions are to be sent, identifies a telephone number to call to process contributions, or provides for online processing of contributions.
MARYLAND: MD Code, Business Regulation, Section 6-411; MD Code, Business Regulation, Section 6-101. A charitable solicitation that is a specific written request to the public for money, and any written receipt for a charitable contribution, must contain a disclosure statement with the following information: 1. A statement that a copy of the current financial statement of the charitable organization is available on request; 2. the name of the charitable organization and the address and telephone number where requests for a copy of the financial statement should be directed; and 3. a statement that, for the cost of copies and postage, documents and information submitted under this title are available from the Secretary of State. The disclosure statement must be displayed conspicously on a charitable solicitation and on a receipt for a charitable contribution. Sample disclosure statement: A copy of the current financial statement of [name of charity] is available by writing [address where requests should be directed] or by calling (XXX) XXX-XXXX. Documents and information submitted under the Maryland Solicitations Act are also available, for the cost of postage and copies, from the Maryland Secretary of State, State House, Annapolis MD 21401, (410) 974-5534.
MISSISSIPPI: Miss. Code Ann. Section 79-11-523 (3): The following statement must be reproduced verbatim on writtent solicitations, confirmations, receipts and reminders of oral solicitations: "The official registration and financial information of (insert the legal name of the charity as registered with the Secretary of State) may be obtained from the Mississippi Secretary of State's office by calling 1-888-236-6167. Registration by the Secretary of State does not imply endorsement by the Secretary of State."
NEW JERSEY: Charities Regulations 13:48-11.2: The following disclosure must be "conspicously printed" on any printed solicitation, written confirmation, receipt or written reminder of a contribution from an organization, indpenedent paid fundraiser or solicitor: "INFORMATION FILED WITH THE ATTORNEY GENERAL CONCERNING THIS CHARITABLE SOLICITATION AND THE PERCENTAGE OF CONTRIBUTIONS RECEIVED BY THE CHARITY DURING THE LAST REPORTING PERIOD THAT WERE DEDICATED TO THE CHARITABLE PURPOSE MAY BE OBTAINED FROM THE ATTORNEY GENERAL OF THE STATE OF NEW JERSEY BY CALLING (973) 504-6215 AND IS AVAILABLE ON THE INTERNET AT htty://www.state.nj.us/lps/ca/charfru.htm. REGISTRATION WITH THE ATTORNEY GENERAL DOES NOT IMPLY ENDORSEMENT."
NEW YORK: New York Section 174-b. Solicitation. Any solicitation… shall include therein a statement that upon request, a person may obtain from the organization or from the charities registry on the attorney general's website, a copy of the latst financial report filed by the organization with the attorney general. Such statement shall specify the address of the organization and the address of the attorney general, to which such request should be addressed and in the case of a written solicitation, must be placed conspicuously in the material with print no smaller than ten point bold face type or, alternatively, no smaller than the size print used for the most number of words in the statements. 2. Any solicitation used by or on behalf of any charitable organization shall include: (a) a clear description of the programs and activities for which it has requested and has expended or will expend contributions or shall include therein a statement that, upon request, a person may obtain from the organization such a description; and (b) a statement identifying the website and telephone number of the New York state office of the attorney general where an individual can receive information on charitable organizations. (c) If the solicitation is by an institution subject to article five-A of the not-for-profit corporation law, and is for an endowment fund, the solicitation must include a statement that, unless otherwise restricted by the gift instrument pursuant to paragraph (b) of section five hundred fifty-three of the not-for-profit corporation law, the institution may expend so much of an endowment fund as it deems prudent after considering the factors set forth in paragraph (a) of section five hundred fifty-three of the not-for-profit corporation law.
NORTH CAROLINA: Every charitable organization or sponsor that is required to obtain a license under G.S.131F-9 shall conspicously display in type of a minimum size nine points, the following statement on every printed solicitation, written confirmation, receipt, or a reminder of a contribution: "Financial information about this orgnization and a copy of its license are available from the State Solicitation Licensing Branch at (919) 807-2214. The license is not an endorsement by the State." The statement shall be made conspicuous by use of one or more of the following: underlining, a border, or bold type. When the solicitation consists of more than one piece, the statement shall be displayed prominently in the solicitation materials, but not necessarily on every page.
PENNSYLVANIA: Pa. Stat. Ann 10,162.13: c) Notice on printed solicitation. - On every printed solicitation or written confirmation, receipt and the reminder of a contribution, the following statement must be conspicuously printed verbatim: The offician registration and financial information of (insert the legal name of the charity as registered with the department) may be obtained from the Pennsylvania Department of State by calling toll free, within Pennsylvania, 1 (800) 732-0999. Registration does not imply endorsement.
VIRGINIA: VA Code Ann. Section 57-55.3. Every charitable organization, required to be registered, soliciting contributions from prospective contributors, shall disclose to the potential donor contemporaneously at the point of a written request or on a written receipt for donations made in response to an oral request that a financial statement is available from the State Office of Consumer Affiars in the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, P.O. Box 1163, Richmond, VA 23218.
WISCONSIN: 202.12 20(b) In addition to the information required by par. (a) any written solicitation, and any confirmation, receipt, or reminder of a pledged amount, shall conspicuously state the following verbatim: "A financial statement of the charitable organization disclosing assets, liabilities, fund balances, revenue, and expenses for the preceding fiscal year will be provided to any person upon request."
