We are proud to announce that Marcy Shyllon has been named Executive Director, following her successful tenure in the interim role. A proven and transformational leader with more than two decades of experience in child welfare and juvenile justice, Shyllon brings deep expertise, steady leadership, and a longstanding commitment to serving children and families across the region.
Shyllon began her career with Boys Town in 2006 as a Youth Care Worker at the organization’s Philadelphia Shelter for teenage girls, where she worked directly with youth in crisis while also supporting programming in New Jersey. After relocating to New England in 2008, she took on a series of leadership roles across multiple programs, building extensive on-the-ground experience and a deep understanding of the organization’s services. Along the way, she led several key initiatives, including tripling the size of the Foster Care Program, launching the LIFT program from the ground up, and helping the Family Home Program operate at full capacity while maintaining a high standard of care to ensure youth received the best possible out-of-home support.
For the past eight years, Shyllon has served as Senior Director of Program Operations where she manages the operations of the Family Home Program and Foster Family Services Program in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
Most recently, Shyllon served as Interim Executive Director of Boys Town New England beginning in September 2025. In that role, she guided the site through a period of transition, providing strong operational oversight, supporting staff, and ensuring continuity of care for the children and families served.
“With over 20 years of experience in the juvenile justice and child welfare field, Marcy brings exceptional knowledge and a deep passion for Boys Town and the children and families we serve in the New England area. We are excited to see Marcy continue her professional journey in the Executive Director role,” said Robby Simard, Executive Vice President of Youth Care.
Throughout her career, Shyllon has demonstrated a commitment to advancing evidence-based practices, building strong teams, and driving meaningful outcomes for youth and families. Her leadership is grounded in real-world experience and a deep understanding of the challenges facing today’s children, positioning her to lead Boys Town New England into its next chapter.
“I’m honored to step into this role and continue my journey with Boys Town, an organization that has shaped both my career and my purpose. I’m excited to work alongside our dedicated staff, community partners and families across New England to build on our strong foundation and expand the impact of our services,” said Shyllon. “Together, we will continue to find new ways to support children and families and ensure every young person has the opportunity to succeed.”
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Shyllon began her career with Boys Town there before being promoted early on and relocating to Rhode Island to support the New England site. She further strengthened her expertise by earning both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in behavioral science and human services administration from Bellevue University through a Boys Town cohort program, complementing her hands-on experience. Now based in North Attleboro, Massachusetts with her husband, Felix, and their four children, she spends much of her time outside of work supporting her three sons and daughter at their many sporting events and activities.
