The MONOPOLY: The Omaha Edition is here!
Mr. Monopoly and sales executive Sarah Bowman shared an oversized board replica with KETV NewsWatch 7's Waverle Monroe and explained how they chose the businesses and landmarks that received a square.
There are sites that showcase the Big O's "natural beauty and geography" like Zorinsky Lake Park, Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge, and Memorial Park.
Other spots highlight some of the city's nonprofits like the Nebraska Humane Society, Food Bank for the Heartland, and Omaha Community Foundation.
Cultural destinations that made it into the game include Josyln Art Museum and Boys Town.
Charles Schwab Field and the Old Market were Omaha's landmarks that are featured.
"Beloved local businesses and shops" that also found their spots on the board include V. Mertz, Mutual of Omaha, and Union Pacific.
“We’re thrilled to kick off end of the year and potential shopping season with the launch of MONOPOLY: The Omaha Edition and to celebrate one of the Midwest’s most beloved, culturally rich and geographically beautiful regions. We’ve spent months creating a portrayal of the area’s dynamic communities that we hope locals and visitors alike will enjoy for years to come,” says Sarah Bowman, a representative from Top Trumps USA. “We’ve incorporated important feedback from locals to truly make this a fun and engaging game for Omaha and beyond.”
