On Monday, September 9th, 2024, Boys Town Central Florida hosted its Annual Demetree Golf Classic at the scenic Tuscawilla Country Club. The event brought together a vibrant mix of local businesses, volunteers and golfers, all dedicated to supporting Boys Town’s mission of transforming the lives of at-risk youth and families in the community.
This year's tournament featured three interactive hole sponsors: Townhouse Restaurant, Texas Roadhouse and Rock & Brews of Oviedo, who all provided a fun and engaging experience for participants. Thanks to the overwhelming support from sponsors and attendees, the event raised just over $20,000 -- allowing Boys Town Central Florida to double the profits compared to last year.
The Classic was co-hosted by Holland Pools & Spas, now led by Stephanie Baumgartner in honor of her late father, Mike Holland. Mike Holland, a former board member and community champion, was instrumental in advancing Boys Town’s programs. His legacy lives on through this annual event, which continues to grow in success and impact.
“We are incredibly grateful to our partners, sponsors and co-host, Holland Pools & Spas,” said Laurie Stern, Executive Director of Boys Town Central Florida. “Mike Holland’s vision and passion helped shape this tournament, and it's heartening to see how his work continues to support the youth and families we serve.”
The proceeds from the tournament will directly benefit Boys Town Central Florida’s programs, ensuring continued support and care for the at-risk youth and families they work with across the region. This year’s success further strengthens the foundation for future growth, making a lasting impact on the community.
