Dear Friends of Boys Town
Through continued prayer, reflection, and planning, I have made the difficult decision to retire as the National Executive Director and President. Boys Town has been my home and heart since I joined this wonderful organization in 2005. Being part of Father Flanagan's mission will forever be one of my greatest joys.
With the completion of the new school and the positive trajectory of our strategic plan, I feel it is the right time for me to continue my work in a new setting. In collaboration with the Archdiocese of Omaha, Boys Town is undergoing a national search for the next leader of the Catholic faith at Boys Town.
For the past 18 years, I have been privileged to work alongside the amazing family of Boys Town employees from throughout the organization. We all share a common dedication to ensuring that Father Flanagan's mission of providing a home for children in need continues.
Our commitment to saving children and healing families is at the heart of everything we have done at Boys Town for more than 100 years. Most kids come to us traumatized by sexual, physical or verbal abuse. We accept them with open arms and wrap them in a loving environment where they can heal and work to overcome the trauma they have endured.
Father Flanagan believed that faith was integral to the healing process and that belief continues to guide us today. As the leader of Catholic worship here at Boys Town, it has been my honor to work alongside the other religious leaders on campus to foster a community that warmly welcomes all, regardless of religious beliefs, race or creed. I will remain eternally grateful for those partnerships and the inclusive community that is, and always has been, Boys Town.
I ask that you continue to support this remarkable organization that works diligently every day to save children and heal families. It has been a privilege for me to serve here at Boys Town and I am honored and grateful to have had the opportunity to be a part of this legacy of service to youth. I am leaving with full confidence that the organization's core values and the life-changing work, that started with Father Flanagan, will continue to thrive. As Father Flanagan himself said, “The work will continue, you see, whether I am there or not, for it is God's work, not mine."
