Boys Town National Research Hospital® has been caring for children and their families affected by physical and mental illnesses since 1977. With a focus on specialty care for the under-served, Boys Town Hospital provided care to more than 46,000 patients in 2022 and contributed more than $32 million in charity care and support of Medicaid assistance programs. This was 18.3% of our healthcare revenues.
The positive impact of direct access to the specialty services that Boys Town Hospital provides is key to the health and wellness of our community, particularly those suffering from chronic conditions that require a lifetime of care. As a nonprofit organization, 43% of the hospital’s inpatients and 31% of the hospital’s outpatient and clinic patients receive Medicaid. This level of support outpaces the percentage of Nebraska children insured by Medicaid as cited by the Kaiser Family Foundation.
