Boys Town Pediatrics offered the first SPARK summer camp session on Thursday.
It's meant for kids in the pediatric weight management program. For campers like Roary Gill, today was a day full of walking, playing and learning.
"I really liked playing kickball and I also like soccer so this was fun," Gill said.
She's one of 19 kids attending SPARK.
Nurse Practitioner for SPARK Carly Rupiper said the goal is to teach kids healthy habits.
"Summer can be a time when kids maybe aren't as healthy, just more sitting around and more screen time, less activity, more snacking perhaps when they're bored," Rupiper said.
Staff show them options for staying active like playing soccer or going on a daily walk.
